Our "Underdogs" and their Success Stories...
Forever Paws is the holding facility for multiple city contracts, with that comes very difficult cases and situations. While all the animals that come through our doors are special, we wanted to have a place where we could share some of our most difficult situations and along with their Happy Endings!
The 21 Dogs
On 7/8/24 Forever Paws was called upon to handle a large cruelty case from the City of New Bedford. The case consisted of a total of 21 dogs,13 Cane Corso's weighing 100lbs on average, and the remaining 8 were Bulldog mixes-all being held in a third floor apartment. They presented with skin infections and ear infections, as well as being covered in urine and feces. Many of the dogs required specialty surgeries such as soft palate surgery, a caudectomy (screw tail),stenotic nares surgery, Cleft palate surgery, and multiple dogs needing Entropion surgery. Many of these dogs will have lifelong medical issues.
Despite all of this-these dogs were absolutely amazing and ALL of them have moved on to their forever homes. This could not have been done without the support of this entire community and all of our followers.
Thank You to Anchor Animal Hospital, Village Veterinary Hospital and Chase Farm Veterinary Hospital for taking on all of these animals on top of their already full schedules.
A very special Thank you to the Fairhaven Animal Shelter who took in 5 dogs, and the Scituate Animal Shelter who took in 4, and Furget Me Not who took 1 dog. Shelters working together to help each other and the animals is something that is necessary now more than ever and we are so appreciative to continue these relationships.
We are forever grateful.

On October 19th, 2024 three Saint Bernard's were found wondering the streets of Fall River. No one called for them. Not One Call. The three were dependent on each other and obviously bonded, and we REALLY wanted them to go home together.
Thanks to our followers and Judge Caprio that was able to happen.
